Major streaming platforms have strict requirements regarding cover art. To prevent your release from being delayed or rejected, verify that your artwork meets the following criteria before submitting.

  • Image Ownership & Rights: Is the artwork or photograph original, or do you own the rights to use it commercially?
    • If you do not own or have a license for the image, replace it with authorized artwork.
    • This includes the use of any imagery of a person or persons without express permission, and any copyrighted characters, logos, or otherwise copyrighted imagery.
  • Text & Extra Information: Does your artwork include text or visuals that aren't in your metadata?
    • Keep it minimal. Artwork should strictly feature your Artist Name and Release Title.
    • Delete social media handles, website URLs, promotional text, record label logos, price tags, or barcodes/QR codes.
  • Uniqueness Across Releases: Have you used this exact cover art for a previous release?
    • If re-using an image, add distinct text or design elements to differentiate it from past releases, or upload a completely new image.
