What are LANDR’s track upload guidelines?

Here’s what you need to consider before uploading your first master to LANDR:

  • The better the mix you upload, the better your master will be. Always upload a WAV if you can (keep in mind that you'll need a WAV when releasing your music later).

  • Upload the rawest version of your mix available and avoid any unnecessary file compression or converting to lossy formats (like MP3). When you’re exporting audio from your DAW, set your sample rate and bit depth the same as the recordings and samples in your project or session.

  • HD WAVs are only available for 24 bit + uncompressed upload formats like WAV or AIFF.

To get the best possible master, read our premaster recommendations here.

Keep in mind that uploaded files must have a sample rate of at least 44.1 kHz. When uploading an MP3, the bit rate must be at least 128 kbps.

If you only have a lossy version like an MP3, no sweat. LANDR accepts the following formats

  • WAV
  • AIFF
  • MP3
  • OGG
  • M4A
  • FLAC

LANDR is designed primarily for stereo mixdowns, but if you’re looking to master mono tracks - we’ve got you covered too.

If you’re working in surround, you’ll have to mix down to stereo if you’re using LANDR.

When using LANDR at landr.com - there’s an upload size limit of 4 GB.

LANDR has a few rules about how long your audio can be too. Tracks that you upload to LANDR must be at least 5 seconds long. If you’re uploading an uncompressed file format like WAV or AIFF, there’s a file duration limit of 120 minutes, and if you’re uploading a lossy format like MP3, there’s a file duration limit of 5 hours.

Upload checklist:

  • Upload uncompressed file formats
  • Make sure your audio is no more than 2 channels (stereo), we don’t accept surround files
  • Make sure your audio has a minimum sample rate of 44.1 kHz
  • Make sure your audio is at least 5 seconds long but no longer than 2 hours (WAV/AIFF) or 5 hours (MP3)
  • Make sure your audio is less than 4GB when uploading to LANDR.com
