The YouTube Content ID system is an audio fingerprinting program that allows YouTube to catalog submitted music, enabling copyright owners to identify where their music is being used on YouTube.
As an artist, finding your content being used without your permission can be a real problem. Content ID was designed to let you regain control over where your music can be heard, and to help you get paid when your music is used on YouTube.
A 20% commission will be taken on royalties from YouTube Content ID regardless of your plan. Royalties made on other streaming platforms will not be affected.
