How do I ensure that my release will be under the correct artist profile on Spotify and Apple Music?

If you distribute music under multiple artist names, or if your artist name is similar to someone else’s, you’ll need to make sure that your release appears under the right artist profile on Spotify and Apple Music. This requires that you link the release to the appropriate profile during the release setup process in LANDR Distribution.

Here’s how to link your artist profiles correctly:

  1. In the “Primary Artist” field of your release setup, begin typing your artist name.
  2. Use the exact casing and spelling as it appears on Spotify and Apple Music — profile matching is case-sensitive, and incorrect formatting may cause your release to be delivered to the wrong artist profile.
  3. If your existing profile appears, select it from the list.
  4. If it does not appear, you can manually link your profiles:

    • Type your artist name and select "Create a new artist"
    • In the pop-up, check the box “This artist already has music live in stores”

  • This will unlock the option to paste your Spotify and Apple Music profile URLs
  • Choose "Link profile using a Spotify/Apple Music URL"

  • Paste the correct links and click “Add”

This ensures that your release is delivered to the correct artist page on both platforms, avoiding mismatches that can confuse fans or split your catalog.

If you're unsure where to find your artist profile URLs:

  • On Spotify, go to your artist page, click the “...” menu, and select Share > Copy Link
On Apple Music, navigate to your artist page and copy the link from your browser's address bar

Properly linking your profiles during setup is the best way to make sure your release lands exactly where it belongs.
