Yes, after a release is already live, you can make updates to certain types of information. Some types of information, however, cannot be changed once the release is live in stores and on streaming platforms. This option is only available with LANDR Distribution Pro or LANDR Studio plans.
Here’s how to make changes:
- Go to My Releases
- Click Manage
- Click Edit
- Make the necessary changes in the release form
- Proceed to the final step and submit your updates
- Our distribution specialists will review your changes and notify you once they’re submitted to the stores
Please note: Metadata updates typically take up to 2 weeks to be reflected across all stores.
What can’t be changed?
Due to streaming platform and store guidelines, the following cannot be updated on a live release:
- The audio files
-
Composition type
- Changing original compositions to cover songs
- Changing cover songs to original compositions
- Changing cover song licensing type
- The order or the number of tracks
If these changes are necessary, you’ll need to pause the release and submit a new version via your LANDR Library.

Changes related to artist names and profiles
The name or profile of existing primary artists, featured artists, and remixers cannot be changed. The artist name and profile are linked, and must match.
While the name associated with the current profile cannot be changed, a new profile can be created if you have a Studio Pro or Distribution Pro plan, and are within your plan’s artist limits.
Otherwise, you will need to remove your releases and rebuild them.
For more information about artist name and profile changes, see here.
Additional Notes:
- Updates may not appear on time if your release is scheduled in less than 7 days.
- New changes will follow recent updates submitted within 7 days.
- In order to effectively serve our distribution users in a timely manner, we have implemented a limit of 3 metadata updates per calendar month, per account.
