The difference between NI Stems and stems

The broader concept of stems refers to the grouped elements within your song, like the group of tracks making up your drums or the group of tracks making up your bass, for example.

NI Stems is an open multi-track audio format that splits your song up into 4 elements—drums, vox, synths and bass. NI Stems allow you to easily play each element independently in any way you want, so it’s perfect for live performance.

It was developed and launched by Native Instruments in 2015.
